Honestly, I don't know what to say.... it is a real tragedy, to be sure, but if only he had listened to the advice of his family and installed window grilles, this may not have happened.

After all, window grilles are a security measure to guard against intruders as well. I've had window grlles on my windows all my life, and I've never felt 'imprisoned' in my own home.

i don't have grills... cos thr's no kids, and i don't think my dog can jump tat high... hehehe...

but yah, he could just install the grills... esp he know he have sleepwalking problem... ppl do/don't do things for the silliest reasons...

You know I can't remember where I read it but I must take a photo if I see it again.

There was this tool from the hardware shop where they marketed it as being indestructable and able to last for life and they gave a lifetime warranty too.

However, there was some small print that goes something like, " Warranty not applicable to damage caused by small children"

My little bro and I weren't allowed to be destroyers. Any misbehaviour was dealt with promptly by smacking / caning. Which meant, we were good kids, BUT, I ended up having fears and paranoia about every dastardly thing.

Actually, now that I'm grown up, sometimes, out of the blue, I'd tell either mom or grandma, "Did you remember that incident when I (insert account of incident) and you (insert punishement meted out)?" and often, they look shocked that : 1) I can remember what happened when I was THAT young; 2) they actually punished me the way they did; and 3) they might have traumatised me THAT much as to let me recall the incidents crystal clear.

My brother, on the other hand, doesn't recall a thing. I think he deals with it by forgetting.

Thing is, pray you never have a sensitive kids, cause sensitive kids are much harder to bring up than the 'normal' ones.
